Portfolio & project management

The schedule should run the company.

In most homebuilding companies it doesn't. The schedule lives in one file, the budget lives in another, and the field finds out last. P&PM Solutions builds P&PM Axis, a construction operating system where the schedule drives every department — and we prove it works by running our own homebuilding operation on it.

Axis is built for spec home builders, and you start from the files you already have. Import your existing project management records, and the system recognises the information and associates it across every department so the company is working from one record on day one.

Getting started

Start from the files you already have.

You don't rebuild your company to start using Axis. Your existing project files come in as they are, the system reads what is in them, and it connects those records to every department that needs them.

  1. 01Step

    Bring what you already have

Existing schedules, budgets and job files import from the platforms builders already run. Nothing is typed in twice, and nothing is left behind in the old system.

  2. 02Step

    The system reads it

Activities, dates, costs, vendors and job records are recognised and matched to each other, not re-keyed. What was a set of separate files becomes one connected record of the company.

  3. 03Step

    Departments connect

Operations, finance and accounting come up pointing at the same records, so the company starts working on day one instead of spending a quarter rebuilding its own data.

The problem

Residential builders don't have a scheduling problem. They have a connection problem.

Every builder has a schedule. Almost none of them have a schedule that talks to procurement, to the field, to accounting and to sales at the same time. So the superintendent works from one version, the office pays invoices against another, and nobody finds out they disagree until a trade shows up to a slab that isn't poured.

The mainstream residential tools give you a calendar with dependencies. Real critical-path scheduling lives in Primavera P6, which is built and priced for billion-dollar industrial projects and locks the schedule away from the rest of the company. Nothing sits in between. Axis does.
