The method
How we build.
Six phases, in the same order, on every project. Each one hands off to the next on a date, not on a hope. This is what Axis was built to run.
01
Feasibility
eight weeks
Find the lot and screen it in a day — location, zoning, setbacks, utilities, perc and septic, floodplain, access, budget. If the numbers work we offer the same day. Under contract: title, survey, perc test, utilities, zoning, then close.
02
Pre-construction
four weeks
Budget and master schedule. Construction drawings and engineering. Subcontracts bid, awarded and signed. Surveying. Building, erosion-control, driveway and septic permits. Water and sewer taps, temporary and permanent power requested. The lot cleared and graded, footings poured. Footings poured is the hand-off to construction.
03
Procurement
Every material package quoted, price-analyzed, ordered and delivered just in time to the stage that needs it, checked against the order on arrival.
04
Construction
eight weeks
Nine stages on one critical path: framing shell, exterior finishes, mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-in, dry-in, interiors, MEP trim-out, second interiors, site finishes. Run day by day by the superintendent.
05
Close-out
one week
One week from the last trade off the job to the open house: interior clean, inspector walkthrough, repairs, final review, exterior wash, final clean, county final inspection, open house.
06
Warranty
365 days
A full year from closing. Callbacks route to the trade responsible for the work, and every service item is tracked to completion.
What the warranty actually is.
A written 365-day warranty and a Home Book at closing. Emergencies answered within 24 hours. Manufacturer warranties on appliances, roofing, windows and HVAC pass to the owner in their name. North Carolina's implied warranty of workmanlike construction stands behind all of it, and we build and document as if that exposure lasts six years, because it does.
Changes during construction.
Changes are welcome. Every one is logged in writing, costed and scheduled before it is agreed, so nobody finds out at closing what a change did to the price or the date.
The whole job, end to end
About twenty weeks from lot purchase to closing, permits and sale included.
This runs on Axis. If you own land and want it built this way, start here.
